2026 Update
I hope everyone had a wonderful 2025. For me it was an unusual year with a few unexpected bumps. But that is the way life goes, you take the hits, learn what you can from them, and keep moving forward. The Wallach Lab remains strong, made possible by an exceptional, dedicated, and hard-working team. I am incredibly fortunate to work with such intelligent and motivated people. I am also grateful for the outstanding collaborators and friends who contribute to and support our work. Be assured that we are actively working on several exciting publications. As I told the team, 2026 is the year of the manuscript - so stay tuned.
I also plan to publish blog posts and social media content more regularly, as these are effective ways to share ideas and information with a broader audience. Balancing teaching, mentoring, an active research program, family life, and an ever-growing set of responsibilities makes this challenging. As you may have noticed, it does not help that I tend toward long, intricate writing - “quick ideas” have a habit of mutating into full-length review articles with 50+ references.
Although it has been some time since my last post, I have been actively working and have several of these “mutated” blog posts nearing completion, including pieces on uranium medicines, polymorphism, and psychoactive soaps. Once these are published, I plan to make a concerted effort to focus on shorter, more targeted topics. I also intend to experiment with different formats - interviews, synthesis write-ups, short videos, shared lab protocols, and general science technique discussions, among other ideas.
I deeply appreciate all of the Wallach Lab’s supporters and look forward to continuing to learn from you as well. As always, I welcome feedback on which topics resonate most. I will also be better about responding - some emails and messages were defintely lost in hyperspace, for which I apologize.
